Hello everyone ;D

My name is Tonya but mostly, I go by "miko" online. In the past, I've been more an enthusiast than a "true blue" writer where writing is concerned, but I hope this will be the year that I change that.

I've visited this community from time to time, (I tend to be a lurker), but it became clear that it was about time I actually registered.

Anyway, I hope everyone's having a great day!

Having a great day, thanks, and hoping the same in turn for you and all our other friends. :)

I was caught by surprise in the Dragon Lady area when Miko suddenly appeared, speaking for Tonya. >:( An occasional surprise builds character. ;)

Glad you're among the non-lurking. I always picture lurkers as a collective group, preschoolers sitting in groups of two or three in front of computer screens pointing to things and laughing but not touching the keyboard or mouse. I don't mean that to sound negative, it's a happy image taken from a photo I saw by accident of a nursery school activity and the kids expressions were precious. But, really, lurking at websites isn't much different from watching a television show. The real bonus to our computer age is getting interactive and exchanging thoughts with each other.

And so, Miko, I'm glad now that I get to exchange some thoughts with you. Apologies in that I'll no doubt get the better part of the deal.*

-- *Like one day when I was telling a friend about websites and said the Internet is a mind expanding activity. Something like, "Remember what a dope I used to be? And now I'm a frickin genius!" She didn't entirely agree with my transformation story. Okay, she actually came out and said I hadn't changed at all except I spent more time in front of a computer instead of doing healthier things, like going for long walks and bike riding. Anyway, I don't think she's all that observant so never mind. Hmmm -- I was saying, uh --?

;D It only occurred to me a while after - that maybe I should have said, "hey, oh by the way - this is Tonya" in that thread.

I don't know...that image of lurkers isn't too far off the mark, to tell you the truth. :P

Plus, the internet is sooo a mind expanding activity... at least that's what I tell myself when I spend hours and hours w/eyes glues to the pretty pretty shiny shiny "glowing screen" ;D

The acid test is this, when do you feel smarter, after you've spent ten hours watching television, or ten hours roaming the Internet?

-- Okay, I don't feel particularly intelligent after doing either of those things. Let me rephrase the question -- ;)

Hello Tonya!!

Welcome! ;)

I see you've already met our resident welcoming committee?

Don't let the straight jacket fool you, he really is quite harmless.

Well, mostly....;)

The straight jacket is a mixed blessing. It helps my posture, no more backaches, but typing is a little more difficult and hard on the nose, after a while it makes me dizzy, especially using the mouse without my hands, pieces of fur sticking to my tongue and all. ::)

John?

Have you been eating the mouse again?

What happened to that nice telepathic one we bought you? ;)

The warranty card -- that would be great, Sharon! :-[

Miko, if a doctor recommends you stay in a straight jacket you'll get a discount on it. :-/

Well, you got your discount, didn't you? :-/

Meanwhile the manufacturer is complaining because they said after I use their psychic mouse it turns into a psychotic rat, so now they don't want to sell me another one. Talk about not fair! :( :)
