What are we doing that you like?
What do you not like?
What would you like to see more of?
Less of?
What can we do to make our webzine better?

I'd like to see more encouragement for readers and writers to comment on stories. IMO, when a writer gets feedback (good or bad) it does several things:
1) Feedback lets writers know that their stories--that they've worked so hard on and are so proud of-- haven't gone off into cyberspace unread and unnoticed by anyone.
2) Feedback helps writers improve their writing.
3) Reading stories and giving feedback also helps writers improve their writing.

We do have a link to The Author's Corner at the bottom of each story -- maybe it would be worth looking into creating a message board specifically for the wowzine, like they have at Aphelion and Demensions?
We did have something like that in the beginning, but it morphed over time into The Author's Corner

I love The Author's Corner. There's a world of stuff there for authors, and I'm surprised more writers and aspiring writers don't take advantage of it.
But maybe that's the problem? Maybe they're bedazzled by the array of stuff they see when they click on (strictly speculating). In that vein, it might be worth a shot to create a board like they have at Aphelion--if it isn't too much trouble.

I'd like to see a change in the forum, "The Current Issue." Right now, the only thread under the forum is titled "Stories in the Current Issue." The way it's set up, comments on all future issues would be on that one thread.
Would it be a good idea to make a new thread for each new issue? For example, "Stories in the Spring '04 Issue," "Stories in the Summer '04 Issue," and so on.
I'm assuming that as time goes by, more comments will be posted by members and readers.
Thanks, Don

Love your magazine! Just wish there were archives of previous stories to read.

Thanks CG -- we did have an archive for awhile, but WoW is a one woman operation, and it became just too much to keep up
You never know, though -- I might consider an archive again once my real life evens out

I checked with the current issue and didn't see any Author's Corner. Didn't notice it when my first story was published in WoW last year, so I can only assume it was discontinued somewhere along the line.
What I'd like to see is a clear statement under each story and novel chapter:
If you enjoyed this piece, or would like to comment on it, please click here and do so as a member of the Worlds of Wonder website.
I think that would get a lot of people to come over and participate. As it is, I don't think there's a link from either here to the magazine, or from the magazine to here!
-- The easier it is for readers to do it the greater the feedback will be.

I can add those links
Sounds like a weekend project
There is a link from the main contents page to the message board, but I can certainly add one here to take folks back to the zine

Thanks Sharon, sounds like a busy weekend but time well spent.
I've noticed the same situation at other sites that are associated with an online publication. They're ghost towns, not even the authors go in to comment on stories.
To me that's a great problem as we should at least be supporting one another, reading and commenting on each other's work with honest suggestions. Otherwise it's like whistling in a large, dark room.

I would like to see WORLDS OF WONDER change from a quarterly webzine to a quarterly sf/fantasy zine available in print and PDF formats. I realize there would be difficulties with this, but as a new published author, physically holding your work with your own 2 hands and seeing it for sale at bookstores/Amazon.com gives a starting author a real sense of extra special accomplishment.

Hi Syarlanothoth (I think I got the spelling right!)
Worlds of Wonder offered it's first print issue with July. Print/pdf versions of each subsequent issue will be offered for sale along with the free online issue and a link to the print/pdf versions can be found on the "current issue" page of the zine
